"I painted "Cow's In The Corn" as a mate to my award-winner "Eat Chicken." I hadn't realized how many people love cows until doing the first cow painting! Even though Eat Chicken won Best Of Show, many people say they like this new painting better.

This watercolor is painted with the same limited palette, (Winsor & Newton brand Antwerp Blue, Winsor Red, and Winsor Yellow), on the same heavy 300lb. watercolor paper, and in the same size as Eat Chicken. The reference photo for this happy cow even came from my collection taken on the same day as the previous cow painting.

My inspiration for this painting came from the nursery rhyme Little Boy Blue, in the line: "…the cow's in the corn…." Eat Chicken was purchased to hang permanently in the Erlanger Children's Outpatient Center in Chattanooga, which had started me thinking about making my paintings have an appeal to children as well as adults. The bright colors I get through the technique of allowing the three primary colors to mingle randomly on the papers, as well as the fun animal theme, seemed to add to this appeal. I tried to make this cow look very happy too!"
